Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Reflection: Growing up, I often felt the need to have everything figured out. Making decisions, both big and small, seemed daunting, and I believed that relying solely on my own understanding was the key to navigating life. This mindset led to anxiety and a fear of making the wrong choices.
One day, a friend shared Proverbs 3:5-6 with me. The words resonated deeply, challenging my self-reliant approach. I realized that trusting in God and seeking divine guidance could provide the clarity and peace I had been missing.
Trusting in God doesn’t mean we abandon responsibility or stop using our intellect. Instead, it invites us to seek divine wisdom, acknowledging that our understanding is limited. When we surrender our plans and uncertainties to God, we open ourselves to guidance that surpasses human insight.
Reflecting on past experiences, I can see moments where trusting in God’s direction led me to outcomes far better than I could have orchestrated on my own. These instances remind me that divine guidance is not only trustworthy but also essential.
